The children’s book for adults, Go the F*** to Sleep written by Adam Mansbach and illustrated by Ricardo Cortes is really making the rounds.
Parental groups are up in arms, blah, blah, blah. Don’t worry, Mansbach, they also tried to ban The Giver.
But none of that matters because Samuel L. Jackson recorded the audio for the book on Audible.com. That's right, the Golden Voice himself telling little kids they better f****** lay their little heads to sleep because daddy isn't bringing another glass of water. Sweet and firm. Audible released the 6-minute recording as a free download and, not too surprisingly, they had 160,000 takers in the first 48 hours.
Mansbach started writing the book as kind of joke—he and so many of his friends had a lot of trouble getting their children to shut their eyes each night. But the unspoken rule was that parents could never speak about how annoying and frustrating this constant battle could be. Mansbach decided to break the silence in a big way. There’s still plenty of love in Mansbach’s book for kids—a baby on a lily pad, a laughing toddler on top a pack of sleeping lions—just not for when they won’t get to sleep after stories, milk and teddy.
Jackson never had any trouble with his daughter because he tired her out every day. Here's Jackson reading on Letterman:
